Welcome! I’m Lana, a registered psychologist. I am passionate about mental health and wellness! As someone who has experienced their own struggles with anxiety and depression, I am familiar with how challenging it can be when your mental health isn’t at its best, and how helpful having support can be. I strive to make my clients feel seen, heard, and understood using a trauma-informed, non-judgemental approach. I strongly believe that the earlier we can learn emotional regulation and coping skills the better we can manage the many stresses of life. This is one one of the many reasons I choose to provide individual counselling to children 6 years and older. I believe it’s never too early or too late to learn these skills!
The basis of my therapeutic approach is to be trauma-informed and client specific, meaning that I take into consideration each client’s circumstances when recommending a therapeutic approach. The two main therapeutic approaches I use with adolescents and adults are Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Accelerated Resolution Therapy. Whereas with children the main therapeutic approaches I utilize are Play Therapy, and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, while incorporating art and books.
