Suicide Grief Support Saskatoon

Suicide Grief Support Saskatoon is a non-profit volunteer organization that provides support to individuals and families who have lost a loved one to suicide at any time.

Our peer-support facilitators and volunteers provide a safe space those affected by suicide loss to share their experiences and process their grief.

Left Behind By Suicide is a monthly drop-in style open group for individuals who has lost a loved one to suicide.  There is no need to pre-register, and no cost to attend. This facilitated group allows for open discussion, with the dynamic of the group fluctuating each month based on the energy brought by our participants.

After Suicide Support is a more intensive therapeutic style closed group which meets weekly for twelve weeks. This group is smaller and attendance consistent, with the same attendees throughout. Each week, our facilitators guide survivors through a different topic related to suicide using various therapeutic methods, helping participants to safely share their story in a supportive environment.

Our trained facilitators are empathetic, experienced, and have each lost a loved one to suicide themselves, and therefore inherently understand this unique kind of loss. Our groups offer a safe and non-judgmental space to share your thoughts and feelings, and to connect with others who inherently understand what you’re going through.

We understand that every person’s grief journey unique, and support after a traumatic and complicated loss is integral. There is power in simply being understood. We encourage attendees to navigate their grief journey with a spectrum of supports and self-care.
