Owner, Counsellor

Kristen Humphries

MSW, RSW

I believe that you are the expert on your own life. My role is not to tell you who you should be or what you should do, but to create a supportive and collaborative space where we can become curious about your experiences, explore what may be happening beneath the surface, and bring awareness to patterns that may otherwise go unnoticed.
My approach to counselling is trauma-informed, relational, somatic, and individualized. I recognize that our experiences are held not only in our thoughts and stories, but also within our bodies and nervous systems. Sessions may integrate elements of Somatic Experiencing, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Polyvagal-informed practice, Narrative Therapy, mindfulness, and other evidence-informed approaches, depending on your needs, goals, and comfort. I am also trained and certified in Ketamine-Assisted Therapy (KAT) and Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy (PAT), allowing me to support individuals interested in exploring these emerging therapeutic approaches within an appropriately structured, ethical, and collaborative model of care.
I value authenticity, curiosity, humour, and genuine human connection within the therapeutic relationship. Therapy does not always have to feel clinical or formal. Sometimes meaningful change begins with having a space where you can slow down, feel heard, understand yourself differently, and safely explore what has been difficult to carry alone.
I have experience supporting individuals navigating:
● Anxiety, worry, and overwhelm
● Depression and low mood
● Trauma and difficult life experiences
● Addiction and problematic coping patterns
● Stress and burnout
● Life transitions and identity development
● Relationship and attachment concerns
● Difficult family or peer relationships
● Self-esteem, self-worth, and confidence
● Emotional and behavioural difficulties
● Self-harm and emotional regulation
● Grief, loss, and significant change
● Personal growth, self-understanding, and reconnection with self
I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families, recognizing that therapy looks different for every person and at every stage of life.
Above all, I believe therapy is an opportunity to become more deeply connected with yourself—not by focusing only on what is “wrong,” but by understanding what you have experienced, how you learned to survive it, what your mind and body may still be carrying, and what you would like your life to look and feel like moving forward. My hope is to provide a space where you can show up authentically, explore without judgment, and move toward greater awareness, connection, and trust in yourself.
