Works with individuals 14+ and families.
Hi I’m Trevor. I have worked in mental health and addictions for 6+ years and I am currently pursuing a Master of Clinical Social Work degree. It is a great joy and privilege of mine to live and work on Treaty 6 Territory and support individuals struggling with mental health concerns.
Some of the issues I have experience with include depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, anger, emotional dysregulation, stress management, relationship troubles, life transitions, suicidal ideation, self-harm behaviour, and addiction.
I approach my practice from an anti-oppressive, person-centred, strength-based, and trauma-informed lens, and I strive to create a safe space for folks of all walks of life. Some of the therapeutic modalities I find particularly helpful in my practice include cognitive-behavioural therapy, dialectical-behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, narrative therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, reality therapy, and structural family therapy. I also have an extensive background in meditation, mindfulness, and yoga practice that informs who I am and what I bring to my therapeutic work with individuals and families.
Whether you want to focus on developing coping strategies and behavioural change that can lead to rapid results, or you want to take some time to unpack emotions and explore meaning within your personal story, my aim is to meet you where you are at and work collaboratively towards a resolution that works for you.
I am a registered social worker and an approved counsellor with Victim Services. As a practicum student with Evolve Counselling and Wellness, I offer a reduced rate to make my counselling services more accessible.
